A Internationally Covered Event

Of course, NEWSChannel 2 and WKTV.com strive to give you the best coverage of all events in Central New York, including the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

But, to give you an idea of how renown this event is, I did some surfing and looked at all of the organizations all over America covering this event right here in our backyard.

The Final Day Well In Progress

As I enter through the main gates in order to traverse the course on the way to the Media Center, I cannot help but notice how extremely beautiful this entire atmosphere is. The course is incredibly well kept, the intricate details of every sign and even how every tent is designed to just make this entire place look classy.

I stop by for a quick snack in the Atunyote Club where the food is absolutely outstanding. Most of it seems to be made up at the Casino's kitchen.

The excitement can definitely be felt in the air as this amazing inaugural tournament comes to close. Check back for more throughout this final day.

Round One Made For Good Golf

The first round of the Turning Stone Resort Championship is in the books. Over 3500 fans saw some very good golf. Jeff Gove and Chad Campbell posted matching 7-under 65's to lead the field. Steve Flesch, John Senden, Matthew Goggin and Brendon de Jonge are tied for third.
John Rollins, who won the final B.C. Open just over a year ago with a closing 64, shot 67 today.

John Daly withdrew after seven holes, complaining he was ill with the flu.
Look for more great scores in round two as the course is perfect and weather will follow suit.
Brian Sandler will have live reports at noon, five and six tonight and a complete wrap up on Sports Express.

Enjoy The Golf!

It's time to tee it up at Atunyote. As a fan of the sport, you have to make your way out to Turning Stone. The golf course is in unbelieveable condition. Robert Harper, Robert Todd and their staff have done a wonderful job preparing Atunyote. A PGA offical told me that the greens are in the best shape, perhaps the best on tour this year.
Too many sports fans complain there's never any big events to go to in Central New York. Now's the time, no complaints, put on your comfortable shoes, sunscreen and see the pro's play golf.
While you are at it, watch us at night for highlights, or come back to the web, wktv.com.
